A football club is set to hold a collection for those affected by a major fire in Chadwell Heath earlier this week.
Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club has confirmed it will be holding a bucket collection tomorrow (August 31) to raise money for those evacuated from the huge fire at the Spectrum Building in Freshwater Road.
The collection will take place before the match against York City at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
The fire, in the early hours of August 26, saw more than 80 people evacuated from the flat block as 225 firefighters tackled the blaze for more than eight hours.
According to the London Fire Brigade, the building had "a number of fire safety issues".
The cause of the fire is now being investigated with help from the Metropolitan Police.
A spokesperson for the club said: "Everyone at Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club were saddened at the news of the devastating fire at Freshwater Road.
