DAGENHAM & Redbridge boss Ben Strevens was left frustrated by their 3-2 defeat at Woking on Saturday.
The setback saw Daggers slip to 13th in the National League standings, with two games remaining.
And Strevens told the club's YouTube channel: “We found the early part of the game difficult.
“Their goalkeeper was putting balls into the box from the halfway line and we had about three or four in a row coming in.
“It led to the first goal they got which put us a bit on the back foot.
“We struggled early doors but grew into it.
“We got the equaliser a little bit against the run of play and I didn’t think we were at our best in that moment.
“It was fiercely competed up until half-time and we were a lot more settled at the start of the second half.”
Ryan Hill cancelled out Jermaine Anderson’s early opener for the hosts, but Woking moved clear late on with Kevin Berkoe and Jayden Luker both scoring in the last five minutes before Conor Lawless netted in stoppage time for Daggers.
And Strevens was left to rue the late goals conceded.
“Harvey (Kedwell) had to come on at right-back as Lingy (Sam Ling) was struggling,” explained Strevens.
“He’s slipped and it’s hit him so they’ve got an overload on the side and the lad’s finished it.
“Then there’ a bit of quality from one of their players, he’s bent it into the far corner just like Conor did.
“I’m really pleased he got his goal.”
However, Strevens still headed home feeling frustrated.
“It’s a game I struggle to accept we lost, but we have to accept it,” he said.
“The form the last month spoke for itself and we’ve only lost four in I don’t know how many games now, but it’s a lot.
“The last game we lost away at Gateshead we were in it until the dying minutes and the same here.
“Fair play to Woking for getting the victory but we’ve got to move on and focus on Hartlepool next week.”
Daggers head to Hartlepool – who sit one place and two points above them in the table – this weekend.
They then complete their campaign at home to Aldershot Town who are eighth and fighting to finish in the play-off places.
