Dagenham & Redbridge stormed back to winning ways with a 4-1 victory against Maidenhead United on Saturday.
The three points earned from their ninth home win of the National League season saw Daggers move to 12th in the table and delighted first-team coach Lewis Young.
“We knew it was going to be a really tough game,” said Young.
“Maidenhead are no mugs in the league, but you could see we’d done our homework on them in terms of working on the transition when we gave it away and making sure we don’t let them break.
“But to come away 4-1 winners after a really tough week is pleasing.
“Our performance levels across the season have been really high, but we haven’t always come away with three points.
“To get them today is testament to the players and their work ethic.
“We had a local derby on TV last weekend [at Southend] which was emotionally draining, Gateshead on Tuesday along with getting there and back and then today is a real pat on the back for them.”
Harry Phipps put Daggers in front after 32 minutes at the Chigwell Construction Stadium before Josh Rees made it 2-0 just four minutes later with his 13th goal of the campaign.
Tristan Abrahams got a goal back for the visitors midway through the second half before Dagenham made sure of the win with two late goals.
Ryan Hill scored his third goal in four games - and eighth of the season - from the penalty spot four minutes from time, before Lewis Page netted in the 89th minute.
And Young felt there was plenty to be happy about, including goalkeeper Elliot Justham being called into the England C squad for their midweek clash with Wales at Llanelli.
“Right now we’ll celebrate the goals, the win and the unbelievable career of Elliot Justham who is only just getting in the England C squad which is something we’re celebrating too,” added Young.
“We couldn’t get him the clean sheet but we know we’re sending him away on a high note.
“He loves the club dearly and we’re so happy with that.
“Pagey got his first or second of the season, Harvey (Kedwell) got an assist when he came on and Conor (Lawless) got a few minutes as well.
“There’s been some really good things we’ve got to digest and take in.
“Hopefully the boys are going home happy and then we’ll start working towards the Oldham game.”
Oldham are currently eighth in the table and will head to Dagenham on the back of a four-game winless streak.
Only seven points separate Daggers in 12th place and Dorking, who are next to bottom, in a very congested bottom half of the table.
Ben Strevens' men head to lowly Boreham Wood on Good Friday, then welcome Ebbsfleet United on Bank Holiday Monday. Both games kick-off at 3pm.
