Looking to escape the hustle and bustle of your everyday life, calm your mind and enjoy some time away from your phone - well have I got the holiday for you.

With work and other commitments, weeks can go by in the blink of an eye. The amount of things we have to do can also become overwhelming and stressful.

Sometimes we can forget to stop and take some time for ourselves.

Well Unyoked have come up with the perfect solution.

The Australian company has created a number of off grid cabins scattered across the UK (as well as Australia and New Zealand).

These cabins are located away from the cities close to nature so you can escape, relax and completely switch off.

Thanks to the team at Unyoked and AllTrails - one of the most trusted and used outdoor platforms/apps in the world - I was able to go and experience one of these off grid cabins first hand.

Here's what I thought.

The most relaxing holiday I have ever been on

I'm going to start by telling you this was one of, if not the, most relaxing and calming holidays I have ever been on.

Everything about the stay was fantastic (apart from the weather, but that can't be helped, we are in the UK after all).

The Unyoked website says: "From where you park your car to how you make your coffee, we've intentionally crafted each single step of our experience to help you slow down, switch off and get in touch with nature (and its benefits) quickly, easily and effectively."

Well I can definitely say they have well and truly achieved that.

Me, my wife and our golden retriever Snowdon went and stayed in Unyoked's Akash cabin located in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

We travelled down from North Wales and when they say off the beaten track they really mean it.

The cabin was located on the brow of a hill with sensational views of the mountain ranges in the distance and the open space surrounding the cabin was amazing - making you feel like you are completely off grid.

The open space surrounding the cabin is completely safe for dogs and Snowdon absolutely loved having room to run around and a plethora of sticks to choose from.

The cabin itself is incredible - the Unyoked team have literally thought of everything.

It's the little things that make it so special. For example when making a coffee you have to grind the beans yourself - genius.

Or the views you wake up to every morning without even having to get out of bed.

Sitting in the cabin in the evenings, in front of a roaring fire, with a beer and great company, what more could you ask for.

It was just so relaxing and calming. Especially as I made the conscious effort while away to not look at my phone (unless getting directions or looking for places to eat).

People say they relax while they are at home, but I don't think anyone can shut off completely with access to things like TV, laptops and mobile phones.

In this Unyoked cabin you can completely slow down and switch off.

It was so nice to sit there with my wife and play cards, play connect four, I even did some drawing - something I haven't done in a long time.

Or you can just sit and do nothing.

It just all felt so calming. It was lovely.

Location wise it is perfect for exploring.

If you are into your walking/hiking there are trails around the cabin to wander off on, or if you are looking for something a little more challenging the Bannau Brycheiniog mountain ranges are right on your doorstep.

We tackled Pen y Fan (the highest peak in the national park) on one of the days which would have been a fantastic walk had it not been for the horrible weather.
