A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a triple stabbing in Dagenham.
The arrest comes as the Metropolitan Police were called to First Avenue at approximately 5.35pm on October 25 with reports of three people injured.
Officers attended with London Ambulance Service colleagues, and paramedics from the London's Air Ambulance.
The charity is only flown in to help treat London's most seriously ill patients.
At the scene a woman believed to be in her 30s and two children, a girl believed to be aged eight and a boy believed to be two-years-old, were found with stab wounds.
They were taken to hospital where they remain.
Police arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of attempted murder.
The man was taken to hospital after being taken unwell but has since been discharged into police custody.
Det Supt Lewis Basford said: “This is a truly shocking attack and I want to thank local residents for their assistance and patience while we deal with this incident.

“At this early stage, we believe those involved were known to each other and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
“A crime scene will remain in place for some time while our officers carry out vital work and you will see an increased policing presence in the area over the coming days."
