A person is in hospital after an incident on train tracks at a Tube station.
London Ambulance Service was called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Whitechapel station at 8.15am this morning.
Ambulance crews, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the scene.
The first crews arrived at the station in two minutes, and a patient was treated at the scene.
They were subsequently rushed to a London hospital as “a priority”.
The incident forced the closure of the District line between Whitechapel and West Ham earlier today.
Services on the line have since recovered, after delays throughout the morning.
British Transport Police have been contacted for more information about the incident.
