E-coli is on the rise in east London, with one NHS trust seeing infections at their highest level since 2022.
The increase in cases of the bacterial infection, which can cause severe stomach pain, bloody diarrhoea and kidney failure, is outlined in new government data.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), which runs Queen's and King George Hospitals, saw E-coli cases rise to 52 in June 2024 from 41 in May.
The last time BHRUT reported as many E-coli cases was in August 2022.
