A sex offender who exposed his genitals on a London Underground platform has been jailed and banned from using the Tube.
At around 9pm on November 17 last year a member of the public told staff at West Ham station that a man was exposing his genitals to people on the District line platform.
When staff checked CCTV they could see the man – now known to be 26-year-old Dan Pirvu – on the platform with his trousers around his knees exposing his bottom and genitals.
British Transport Police were called and Pirvu, of Ripple Road in Barking, was arrested within minutes.
He was charged with one count of exposure and was found guilty by a jury at Inner London Crown Court.
Last Wednesday (August 14) Pirvu was sentenced to nine months in prison.
The judge also made a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order banning him from entering any London Tube station and using any above or below ground Tube service.
Pirvu will also have to sign the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.
Det Con Michael Taylor said: “There is no place for this kind of behaviour on the rail network and we will work quickly to apprehend these kinds of offenders.
"I hope this sentence, along with the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, will give him time allow him to reconsider his actions and prevent him from offending again in the future."
