The elderly man who was killed in a fire at his home in Dagenham has been named and pictured.
Robert Price, 76, died inside his home in Oval Road North on July 27.
Police launched a murder investigation into the fatal fire and a 17-year-old boy has been charged with Robert's murder.
The teenager was also charged with arson with intent to endanger life on July 30, and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' Court the following day.
Emergency services were called at 5.40pm on the day of the fire and forced entry to Robert's home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination held on July 29 revealed his cause of death as burns and inhalation of fire fumes.
The teenager accused of murder is due to appear at the Old Bailey on August 2.
Another male arrested in connection with the fatal fire was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Robert’s family are being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time, police said.
The Met is continuing its appeal for witnesses and information in relation to the fatal fire.
Anyone in the area of Oval Road North between 5pm and 6pm on July 27 who saw the incident is asked to contact police.
