The first pictures have emerged of a pub in Dagenham after it reopened this week, following a near three-week refurbishment.
The Matapan in Green Lane has welcomed customers back after shutting temporarily on June 30.
It officially reopened yesterday (July 18), debuting new changes to both the interior and exterior.
Changes to the pub include a refreshed bar, new seating and an upgraded dining area.
The Matapan has introduced a new menu in honour of the reopening, with giant gyros, the Boss burger, and new dessert sundaes.
Kate Cairns-Gill, general manager, said: “We’re thrilled to reveal the Matapan’s new look to our guests.
"Whether you’re looking for a family meal out or somewhere to enjoy the sport with a pint, our pub is ready to welcome guests, both new and old, to enjoy our brand-new look — but with the same sizzle we’ve always had.”
Prior to the refurbishment, the pub was operating as The Beacon Tree after it underwent a name change under new management in 2007.

Despite the change, Kate said that the community still called it The Matapan, sparking the decision to revert it to its original name.
She said: "Sizzling Pubs aim to be the hub and heart of the community and our community know the pub as the Matapan.
"Even the younger generation who had never been here when it was the Matapan refer to it as the Matapan."
