A major fire has torn through a warehouse in Barking, as firefighters battled to put it out into the early hours of the morning.
The London Fire Brigade was called at 8.54pm yesterday (July 13) with reports of a fire in Box Lane.
Around 125 firefighters from stations across Barking, Dagenham and Ilford were dispatched to the scene in twenty fire engines.
Part of the roof of a warehouse was damaged, including some of the near 200 tons of household rubbish and plant equipment inside it.
It took emergency responders almost five hours to extinguish, with crews remaining at the site until 1.24am this morning (July 14).

A 32-metre turntable ladder was used to fight the fire from above, with a drone team on hand to provide crews with a better aerial view of the scene.
People in the surrounding area were advised to keep windows and doors shut as a result of the large volume of smoke being produced in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
