Faced with torrential rain, Katherine Jenkins showed Hyde Park crowds it's not so much what you have on your feet as your ability to think on them.
The popular classical singer was supporting Andrea Bocelli at Hyde Park on Friday, July 5 when the heavens opened.
Up until then, the gig had been as notable for the elegance of the attire as the accompaniment by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
She had been introduced by former Hear'Say singer Myleene Klaas, herself dressed in an elegant white satin gown, who called Jenkins "a friend and a national treasure".
Dressed in a sparkling strapless jumpsuit with a flowing half dress paired with Manalo Blahnik high heeled shoes the mezzo soprano embarked on standards such as A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, as well as Flower Duet from the opera Lakmé, sung with soprano Lucy Crowe.
As the rain lashed onto the stage she told her fans in her Welsh accent: "You all look lovely in your ponchos."
With the skies showing no sign of clearing, she announced would change her set list and spoke to conductor David Mahoney - returning with an umbrella and launching into Singing in the Rain - much to the delight of the crowd.
Nearly slipping as she strolled along the stage, she said: "Ladies and gentlemen, will you excuse me if I put my wellies on? Who needs the Manolo Blahniks, I need some wellies, let's go."
Hunter boots, on she looked like a badass Bond girl as the orchestra began playing the familiar 007 theme.
She launched into a medley of Bond themes including Sam Smith's recent Writing on the Wall, the Louis Armstrong favourite We Have All The Time In the World, Nancy Sinatra's 1967 classic You Only Live Twice, Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon, Shirley Bassey's vampish Diamonds Are Forever and finally Adele's Skyfall.
The set concluded with a duet with John Owen-Jones on Barcelona and We Are The Champions, with the whole soggy crowd joining in.
BST continues on Friday with Stevie Nicks, followed by Kylie Minogue on Saturday and South Korean megastars Stray Kids on Saturday.
BST Hyde Park also hosts the summer event Open House, which ends today (June 11).
Visitors have free entry to Wimbledon screenings, an Outdoor Cinema, BREW//LDN, Cornish Orchards Chef’s Table with Woodfired Canteen and more.
On Thursday Norman Jay MBE will take over Open House with DJ sets, a panel talk session and live music with Norman Jay’s Good Times Band.
