There’s nothing quite like an outing with your colleagues on a Tuesday to get you through the week.
I went to Lane 7 in Victoria with my colleagues on June 18, and I felt like I was having the ultimate team bonding experience in this evening of laid-back fun.
I think it’s fair to say that we loved every frame and each strike.
We received a friendly welcome where staff sat us down and brought us an ice bucket of refreshing beers and prosecco before we got our bowl on.
Unlike other places, like Tenpin Bowling, you don’t have to wear bowling shoes and can enjoy in your own comfortable footwear.
The atmosphere at Lane 7 was electric, with neon lights and upbeat music setting the perfect scene for a night of bowling.
The lanes screamed competition and there’s nothing more exciting than seeing all your names on the screen.
We all embarrassed ourselves a bit at first with some gutter balls, but soon got into the swing of things.
Some hilarious moments included Nathalie’s victory dance when she got a strike, Olivia’s reaction when her bowling ball barely touched the pin rather than knocking it down, and the showdown whenever two people bowled against each other (particularly Poppy and me).
But in the end, it was Alex who, in a timely theme, won by a landslide.
With 125 points, Alex managed to beat us all with a series of impressive strikes and spares.
The rest of us had our moments, while some others didn’t get above 50.
Funnily enough, that wasn’t the only highlight of our evening, as we moved on to the food after our game.
Lane 7 gave us burgers and chips and did a great job attending to some of our dietary requirements.
The burgers were everything you’d expect: hearty, satisfying, and just what we needed after a few games of bowling.
The rest of the evening was a game of musical chairs where everyone moved around to enjoy conversations with one another while enjoying Lane 7’s hospitality.
Overall, Lane 7 was an incredible experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out with colleagues or friends.
A new Lane 7 will be opening up later this year in Camden.
