Margaret Mullane was elected as MP for Dagenham & Rainham, with a 42.6 per cent share of the vote.
Ms Mullane held onto her seat for Labour with 7,173 votes more than her nearest competitor, Kevin Godfrey for Reform UK.
After her win was announced, the Labour MP said: "To the people of Dagenham & Rainham, thank you.
"You have sent a clear message under Keir Starmer's leadership that Labour is back in the service of working people.
"I promise everyone in Dagenham & Rainham here and now, as your MP I will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with working people 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. I'm in your corner."
Dagenham & Rainham had a higher turnout than the Barking constituency at 51 per cent - although this was still 8 per cent lower than 2019.
