A pub in Dagenham is set to reopen this month after temporarily closing for refurbishment.
The Beacon Tree in Green Lane is currently undergoing interior changes after closing last month.
It was announced in August 2023 that the pub would undergo a refurbishment in "early 2024".
The Beacon Tree officially closed on June 30, when it took to Facebook to thank customers for their support.
The refurbished venue is expected to reopen on July 18 at 2pm.
It is not just the interior of the pub that is set to change, but also its name.
Some in the area may know and refer to the pub as The Matapan, a nod to its past name which it will resume once reopened.

According to Valence House Collections, the pub underwent a name change in 2007 after being taken over by new management.
The pub is currently part of the Sizzling Pubs brand, and is one of its latest pubs to be revamped.
Last month, The Tollgate in Chadwell Heath also had a refurbishment done.
