McDonald's workers have been picking up litter on a patrol in Dagenham.
Six staff members collected 15 bags of litter along Whalebone Lane South and Royal Anglian Way — and were even joined by Barking and Dagenham council cabinet member Sade Bright.
The litter pick was organised by Joey Antwi-Kusi who owns the town's franchise outlet.
“This is an example of being a good neighbour,” he said. “My team gave their time to make the area clean for those who live here.”
They were among McDonald’s crews up and down the country who do 5,000 miles a week on litter patrols, not just their own packaging but all street rubbish.
The company has also installed recycling devices to separate plastics from general waste and collects used oil from the kitchens to turn into biodiesel fuel for its delivery fleet.
