A new community hub has been opened for Eastbrook and Rush Green on the Barking and Dagenham College campus giving public access to council services.
Families in the area had an afternoon of free activities for the opening at the college's learning resources centre which now has direct access to council services along with advice and support if people need it.
“The new community hub means households in Rush Green can now get access to services without having to travel to the town hall,” Barking and Dagenham Council cabinet member Maureen Worby said. “It is our vision of making council services more accessible by putting them in the heart of the community.”
The new hub is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm where anyone can get access to all council services as well as support for getting jobs, skills training, housing, managing household budgets and general health and wellbeing.
