A fish and chip shop has been named Barking and Dagenham's favourite restaurant by Just Eat.
Queens Fish Bar in Oxlow Lane, Dagenham, took the crown as the borough's most popular independent restaurant, according to data provided by the online food delivery company.
Just Eat’s research also revealed the takeaway trends across four boroughs in the capital - Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Lambeth and Greenwich.
The data revealed that while chicken and Chinese cuisine took top spots as takeaway favourites across several London boroughs, Barking and Dagenham residents went against the trend.
In this east London borough, the study found Caribbean and Turkish food are seeing a surge in demand - a stark contrast to Greenwich's growing preference for Japanese and African cuisine.
Caribbean outlet Whap Whap Kitchen was Barking and Dagenham's takeaway 'hidden gem'.
Just Eat UK London Director, Fabian Fuchs, said: "We're thrilled to unveil the latest insights into the capital’s vibrant takeaway scene, showcasing the diverse food preferences across London boroughs.
"This data highlights the diversity that makes London's food culture so exciting, and we're proud to offer exclusive discounts to celebrate the local restaurants that bring joy to our customers' tables."
