The victim of a suspected murder in Dagenham has been named and pictured for the first time.
Haseeb Bhatti was discovered suffering from critical stab injuries in Flamstead Road in the early hours of April 20.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the 23-year-old died at the scene.
He was found after police were called to nearby Rothwell Gardens at around 1.30am to reports of a 50-year-old man suffering from stab injuries.
The condition of the man was not life-threatening, and he has since been discharged from hospital.
A police investigation subsequently led to the arrest of a man in Ashford, Kent, on Wednesday (April 24).
Two days later, Frankie Burletson was charged with the murder of Haseed Bhatti and GBH with intent of the 50-year-old man.
The 24-year-old, who is from Dagenham, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (April 26).
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (April 30).
Police have said that the family of Mr Bhatti are being supported by specialist officers.
