A man has died in the early hours of morning today in a brutal double stabbing incident in Dagenham.
Metropolitan Police were called by London Ambulance Service at around 1.30am today to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in Rothwell Gardens.
Officers attended and their initial enquiries led them to a second victim who was found with critical stab wounds in Flamstead Road nearby.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the 23-year-old man died at the scene. Officers believe they know his identity and are carrying out further probe to inform his family.

The condition of the other man, Met Police said, is not life-threatening and he was discharged from the hospital.
He has since been arrested in connection with the murder and remains in police custody.
Detectives from Met’s Specialist Crime Unit are leading the investigation supported by local policing team.
Rothwell Gardens, Rothwell Road and a small part of Flamstead Road in Dagenham are currently closed to vehicles as per Barking and Dagenham council.
Officers have urged anyone with information or any witnesses to call the police on 101 citing reference 621/20APR.
