Land has been purchased for the fifth phase of a major development project in Barking Riverside - with the aim to build 440 new homes.
Bellway London, the homebuilder behind the scheme, have finalised the purchase of the land for the upcoming phase of its Fielders Quarter development.
The new site, bordered by Fielders Crescent and Riverside Campus to the west and The Boulevard to the southeast, will house the proposed homes, as well as a public square and commercial space.

The Barking project team has set out its plan for the 2.3 acre site, which will include five apartment blocks featuring a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
The development will consist of 286 new homes for private sale, with the remaining 154 properties to be made available via the London Affordable Rent scheme or shared ownership.
Each apartment will have its own patio space, balcony, or terrace.
David Burns, managing director of Bellway London’s Barking project team, said: "This is an important land purchase which sees us continue our commitment to this up-and-coming area.
"This brownfield site at Fielders Quarter provides a very exciting opportunity for Bellway London to create an attractive, sustainable new mixed-use development within the final parcel of this part of the hugely transformative Barking Riverside masterplan."
Mr Burns added: "Residents will have the exclusive use of an on-site concierge service, a gym, cycle storage and a residents-only courtyard.
"The development will also see the creation of Western Square, which will mark the end point of the public east-west linear park which runs through the different phases of Fielders Quarter to Riverside Campus."

Fielders Quarter is part of a larger plan by Bellway, aiming to creation 10,800 new homes in place of the former Barking Power Station.
Bellway London also plans to deliver 167 new homes at Westbrooke Village and 107 properties at Eastbrooke Village, as part of the wider Barking Riverside regeneration plan.
Construction of the fifth phase of Fielders Quarter is set to start in late 2024.
