Police believe "a fatal collision" is the reason for a road closure in Dagenham.
A Met Police spokesperson responded to this paper regards an ongoing probe in Rainham Road South today (January 26).
The road has been closed in both directions this morning.
The spokesperson said: "(It) looks like this is a fatal collision."
Leys Avenue and Ballards Road have also been affected by the closure.

We still await a formal written statement from the police with more detail.
Barking and Dagenham Council released a tweet warning road users to avoid the area whilst the incident is ongoing.
Barking and Dagenham Metropolitan Police Service has also been active on X, formerly known as Twitter, having reposted a tweet from Mayesbrook Police confirming the cancellation of a violence against women and girls event as a result of the incident.

The London Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
