A man is fighting for his life after an alleged hit and run collision in Barking earlier today.
The Metropolitan Police was called to Movers Lane, close to the junction with Gordon Road, after the London Ambulance Service alerted them to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.
Police said the driver of the car is alleged to have failed to stop at the scene.
The driver, a man, has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred at 9.22am this morning (January 22).

London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene of the crash, where a 60-year-old pedestrian was found.
He was taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition, police said.
His next of kin has been informed and enquiries are ongoing.
The man police have arrested is in custody.
