A woman is in hospital after suffering a head injury in a crash in Barking.
She was a pedestrian involved in a crash with a car in Upney Lane.
The incident this morning (January 15) has caused the road to be closed in both directions, with closures ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at approximately 10:15hrs on Monday, 15 January to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian in Upney Lane, Barking.
"The pedestrian – a woman – was taken to hospital for treatment".
No arrests have been made as yet but police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called today (15 January) at 10:02am to reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian on Upney Lane, Barking.
“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated a woman for a head injury, before taking her to a major trauma centre.”
