Students studying childcare have gone a step further and raised £400 for Children In Need for the New Year.
They set about coming up with ideas at Barking and Dagenham College on how they could raise money for the charity, as their future careers will be in early years education.
“The fundraising was inspiring,” second-year childcare student Jannat Malik from Dagenham said. “I felt charitable while involved, like a better person.”
Their Early Years course tutor Alison Fordham was full of praise for their fundraising as well. She said: “They achieved a result when times are so tough for everyone.”
The students set up a college raffle and spent four days going round the Rush Green campus selling tickets for festive hampers that they had put together with donated food from well-wishers.
