A Newsquest sales director trod the boards in this year's Barking panto - calling it a "fantastic" experience.
Jermaine Cayenne took part in the preview show of Dick Whittington, which opens today (December 7) at the Broadway Theatre and runs until New Year's Eve.
He appeared in a one-off guest role on Wednesday (December 6) as Lord Jermaine Cayenne of the Barking and Dagenham Post in the story of a boy bidding to become the capital's lord mayor.
Jermaine said: "It was great to be a part of the preview night with such a talented cast, from Will Haswell who plays Dick Whittington, to the fabulous ensemble team—Morgan Bazley, Ethan Brenchley, Jemma Dawes—and not forgetting Alfie Simmons, who brings the whole show together. It was just fantastic.
"The show was enjoyed by all; you could feel the buzz in the theatre."
The theatre has announced some shows for those with specific needs as part of the run.
Jermaine, whose job sees him cover London and the south-east, said he would watch the performance back "as it was that good".
He added: "If people haven’t got their tickets yet, they shouldn’t delay — it’s a show for all the family."
