Students studying childcare at Barking and Dagenham College have raised £400 for the Children In Need charity.
With future careers will be in early years education, they decided the charity “felt like a natural fit” because of the things it does for children.
“The students came up with ideas on how they could raise money,” early years tutor Alison Fordham said. “It was a joy watching them come together and achieve a result when times are so tough for everyone.”
Their fundraising included a college raffle, spending four days going round the Rush Green campus selling tickets to all students and staff and making up hampers as prizes.
Level three childcare student Jannat Malik, an 18-year-old from Dagenham, said: “I was inspired and felt charitable being involved.”
The childcare trainees are already planning more fundraising in the New Year.
