Two children have been injured in a crash near a school which was attended by London's Air Ambulance.
The scene of the incident in Rainham Road South, Dagenham lies close to The Leys Primary School, which has been contacted for comment.
Crews from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were sent to the crash this morning, November 30, with the first medic arriving within four minutes.
An eight-year-old and ten-year-old were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
A spokesperson for the LAS said: "We were called at 8.37am today (30 November) to reports of a road traffic collision on Rainham Road South, Dagenham.
“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated an adult for a head injury and two children for minor injuries before taking them to hospital as a priority.”
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "A car was in collision with three pedestrians at the scene.
"A woman was treated for head injuries and two children – aged eight and 10 – were treated for minor injuries.
"All were taken to hospital. We await any update on the condition of the woman."
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Police confirmed the road remains closed in both directions.
One Facebook user who said they witnessed the incident said they were left "in shock" and called it "truly traumatising".
