It’s not every day you get a letter of thanks from the King and Queen.
But that’s what happened to teenager Ryan Cauvain, from Dagenham, who designed a royal poster which he sent to Buckingham Palace for the coronation in May.
The 18-year-old special educational disabilities student at Barking and Dagenham College received the letter with a signed message by the royal couple.
The letter says: “We were deeply touched by your most kind and thoughtful message following our coronation.
"We particularly appreciate that you so generously took the time to write to us on this very special occasion.”
Ryan’s special needs tutor at the college’s Horizon campus, Lauren Soltau, said: “Ryan put so much work into creating a poster for the coronation. To have it recognised in this way is fantastic — we’re proud of him.”
