Students at Barking and Dagenham College were celebrated with a festival.
They were given trophies at the Learner of The Year awards, an end-of-year celebration the college puts on at its Rush Green campus.
One protective services student, Nadine Baker, was named Learner of The Year for her spirited leadership helping other students.
It was Nadine’s tutor Gwen Edwards who nominated her.
“She motivates her class members,” Gwen explained. “Her confidence in leading her team is amazing, with the achievements that she has made at the college.
“She is considerate to her classmates, always offering support and encourages them — and is always the first to volunteer on our projects.”
Nadine continues studies next term and has secured an apprenticeship in special education when she leaves college.
The awards ceremony was followed by a “festival of success” with music, food games and even beauty treatments.
