A trip down memory lane with live tribute band performances from cult films 30 and 40 years ago is being staged at Barking’s Broadway Theatre.
The Ultimate Blues Brothers & Commitments Experience is celebrating the two movies, The Blues Brothers and The Commitments.
There’s even a snatch of Elvis Presley’s 1957 Jailhouse Rock.
The Saturday night show on July 29 includes stories and songs with a live band.
The show includes iconic scenes from both cult classics, with musical performances from the Big Soul Band and favourites remembered from Aretha Franklin, The Blues Brothers and Andrew Strong.
Songs include Everybody (Needs Somebody), Try a Little Tenderness, R.E.S.P.E.C.T. — and Jailhouse Rock.
Tickets are £21.50 (concessions) from the box office (10am-4pm Tuesday and Thursday, Saturday 10am-1pm), phone 020 8507 5607, or the theatre’s “broadwaybarking.com” website.
