A teenage boy was stabbed at a park in Dagenham yesterday.

Police were called to Mayesbrook Park at just before 5pm on April 25 after reports of a fight involving a number of people.

London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and found a 14-year-old with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is not life-threatening, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested today (April 26) on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was taken to an east London police station and remains in custody.

Several other suspects are still outstanding, a Met Police spokesperson said.

Detectives investigating the case have appealed for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward.

Det Con Natalie Anderson said the injured boy "was attacked by a large group of boys” and she is “particularly keen to hear from anyone with footage of the suspects either at the scene or leaving it.”

She added: “We know that for young people contacting police can be daunting, but there is the option of contacting Crimestoppers who will pass information onto us for you and they won’t even ask you for your name.”
