A teenager from Romford got the chance to see what life on a film set is really like when he joined the production team on the new Netflix Luther movie being shot in Barking.
18-year-old Kevin Quadrado got the work experience break as part of his studies at Barking and Dagenham College.
Kevin got interested in the film industry watching YouTube videos and was drawn to how the films were made and how it all worked.
He signed up to a media course at the college and is now in his second year studying film and media.
“I got to do my work experience with the location crew,” he said. “I helped set up equipment and organise things around the set.”
Kevin did his work experience on the set of Luther: The Fallen Sun production, starring Idris Elba, for two days when the Netflix crew was shooting scenes in the area.
He also became a marshal for a day at the Film Barking and Dagenham careers event and was even interviewed by the BBC.
He has another year of his course left and getting more practical experience in the film industry.
