A main road in Barking is closed after a collision that saw one person taken to hospital.
The A124 Barking Road remains shut in both directions following the two-vehicle crash, in Burges Road, which police were called to just after 4.05am today (December 22).
A Met Police spokesperson said the driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital but his injuries are "non-life threatening and non-life changing".

They added: "The driver and passenger of the second vehicle made off from the scene prior to police arrival."
Transport for London (TfL) is reporting that the A124 is closed at the junction with Burges Road.
It is advising road users to follow an alternative route but said traffic is "flowing well" on diversion.
Three bus routes are also being diverted, according to TfL.
These are numbers 5, which runs between Romford and Canning Town, the 238, which goes between Stratford and Barking, and the 325 which runs between Beckton and the Royal Docks.
