Dagenham Boxing Club will have six of their fighters in action at the NABGC Championship semi-finals after a successful weekend in the ring.
Four of their seven London champions were in action at the quarter-finals at Halstead ABC, with Jimmy Doherty moving into the Class C 54kg semi-finals when Leo Wood (Guildford) was disqualified for persistent fouls.
Both boxers received two warnings for fencing before Wood was given a third and final warning which meant automatic disqualification.
Max Schultz was edged out by Sudbury's Scott Stannard in a tightly contested Class C 57kg contest, having looked to have been the aggressor throughout.
Stannard seemed happy to stay on his back foot, but the judges awarded him a unanimous points win.
Sunday saw Jake Hornsby win his Class B 52kg bout thanks to a fairly dominant display against Hadley Binskin (PEJ Margate ABC).
Hornsby used controlled pressure and fast footwork, while measuring the distance superbly well, to secure his progress with a unanimous verdict.
And Musa Sheikh looked very strong in his Class B 54kg encounter with Joe Dunne (Odyssey ABC), forcing the pace and giving his rival a standing count on his way to another unanimous points victory.
The weekend's three winners will join Billy Macey, Jimmy Doherty, Darren Bailey and Isaac Okoh in the semi-finals, which take place in Bristol this coming weekend.
