Services will take place across Barking and Dagenham this week to mark Remembrance Day (Friday, November 11).
Commemorating the Armed Forces and those who lost their lives in service, the memorial services and parades in the borough will take place from November 11 to 13.
All the parades and services below can be attended by the public.
Barking and Dagenham Council leader Cllr Darren Rodwell said: "It’s important for us as a borough and as a community to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.
"We will honour those who fought for us, and we will remember them as the heroes they are."
He added: "We hope all our residents will join us in paying their respects and reflect on those who did so much for us.”
Friday, November 11
On Friday, the council will be hosting a short service at 11am at the Job Drain Memorial Statue, adjacent to the Broadway Theatre, Barking.
From 10.45am on the same day, the Dagenham Royal Naval Association will also hold a short service at the Cross Keys War Memorial in Dagenham Village, located in Church Street, Dagenham.
Saturday, November 12
The following day, the Dagenham Branch of the Royal Naval Association will hold a short service from 10.30am.
This service will take place at the war memorial on the corner of the Heathway and Church Elm Lane in Dagenham.
Sunday, November 13
On Remembrance Sunday, Barking and Dagenham Council will hold its Remembrance Parade.
The parade will leave Barking Park at 10.20am and will march through Barking town centre, arriving at St Margaret’s Church for a service at 10.50am.
A two-minute silence will take place there at 11am.
Also on Remembrance Sunday, at 10.50am, a service will take place at Dagenham Parish Church in Church Lane, where another two-minute silence will take place.
The afternoon event will see a service by the Becontree Royal British Legion.
The service will take place at the Royal British Legion Chadwell Heath, 541 Becontree Avenue, Dagenham at 3pm.
