Veterans, cadets, scouts and members of the public joined the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham in remembering the borough’s fallen heroes yesterday.
Crowds gathered at the war memorial in Barking Park as wreaths were laid in remembrance, 100 years after the outbreak of the First World War.
A special procession later marched from Barking Town Hall to St Margaret’s Church for special service.
